Purpose: | To lead the congregation into the presence of God in song |
Population(s) served: | The congregation |
Skills & Qualifications:
- a heart for Worship is the top priority
- there is no room for an ego or a performance mentality Instruments:
- ability to follow songs with cords; virtuosity is not required Singing:
- Ability to carry a tune; harmony is a definite asset
Note: There is a minimum level of ability that must be met.

Training Provided:
- on the job training
Meeting Date & Time:
- occasional meetings to plan the schedule
- practices are generally on Wednesday or Thursday evenings from 7:30 - 9:30 pm
Time Commitment Involved:
- 2 hours practice for each service, the service itself, & familiarization with songs at home
- it also takes time to choose the songs, (done by the Worship Leader) which usually follow the theme for the service e.g. readings, sermon etc.
- set-up and clean-up time
Description of Duties / Responsibilities:
- attendance at practice is essential
- arrive early to help set up & stay after the service to clean up (approx. 1/2 hr. total)
- besides Sunday services, there are also Healing and Special services as well as outside venues
Limits of the Position:
- as determined by the Worship Leaders
