Spiritual Gift Ministry Task Force

Ministry Description

Position Risk Assessment: Medium
Term of Office: 1 year, renewable
Supervision and Support: Reports to: The Incumbent
Staff Liaison (if different from above):
Committee/Board responsible for this ministry: Christian Education Committee
Purpose: To facilitate the various ways spiritual gifts can be identified and developed
Population(s) served: The Congregation

Skills / Qualifications:

  • the Chairperson must have leadership and organizational skills
  • public speaking ability is an asset
  • good listening skills
  • visionary skills

Spiritual Gifts Recommended:

  • leadership
  • organization
  • creativity
  • teaching

Training Provided:

  • on-the-job training
  • Diocesan Sexual Misconduct Training every 3 years

Meeting Date & Time:

  • every 4 – 6 weeks for 1 – 2 hours

Time Commitment Involved:

  • can be up to 4 – 6 hours per month

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • to encourage others to identify their spiritual gifts
  • to meet with members with common gifts and discuss ways in which the gifts can be developed

Limits of the Position:

  • must not meet with others one-on-one, as this is a medium risk ministry
  • comply with all policies governing confidentiality
