Ministry Description

Position Risk Assessment: Low
Term of Office: 1 year, renewable
Supervision and Support: Reports to: Outreach Chairperson
Staff Liaison (if different from above):
Committee/Board responsible for this ministry: Outreach Committee
Purpose: To keep the congregation informed about the missionaries supported by St. Ninian's
Population(s) served: Our Missionaries, and our congregation

Skills / Qualifications:

  • must have a heart for missions

Spiritual Gifts Recommended:

  • mercy
  • missionary
  • service
  • prayer
  • evangelism

Training Provided:

  • on-the-job training

Meeting Date & Time:

  • no specific meetings, however you may be asked to attend occasional Advisory Board meetings

Time Commitment Involved:

  • 2 - 3 hours per month on average

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • keep in touch with those in the mission field
  • inform the congregation regarding updates, prayer requests etc.
  • submit an article for the St. Ninian's News
  • update the Missions Board
  • when missionaries return home assist them in making telephone calls, arranging meetings etc. as required

Limits of the Position:

  • this is not a "fundraising" ministry unless the person is gifted in this area
